Hello everyone, welcome to my site. And I hope you will find this site both interesting and entertaining.I am Koen Schenke, but most of you all know me as The Dutch Cylon.
I’ve been creative all my life. Even at a young age, I was already making models. This evolved into making dioramas and teaching myself to use different techniques to achieve the right results. The use of different kind of materials, using the airbrush and different paint techniques. All of this would prove very useful later on. But my interests didn’t stop there, and I also taught myself to paint, such as oil on canvas. I started with photography, which then evolved into trick photography and infrared photography. The transition to astrophotography came shortly after, and I took the most beautiful pictures of the universe with my telescope. My education was equally focused on creativity, and I studied advertising and then art school or university of fine arts.
Since I was born in the 70s, I naturally watched all the great series of that era. Battlestar Galactica was one of them. And I was instantly hooked. The Cylon was my absolute favorite. This remained the case my entire life, until I started making my own props. Which I used for my cosplay. This evolved from amateur props to beautiful professional props with working sound and lights, and later with computer-controlled programs.
I tried everything to make it as beautiful and perfect as possible. I experimented with different materials. It had to be sturdy because, from my own experience with cosplay, I know that things can break. That is, until I started working with fiberglass, and the models I made with it were super strong yet lightweight. And since then, I’ve made all my models from fiberglass. And combined with my previous experience with other materials and techniques, this resulted in beautiful models. Perfect for collectors, cosplayers, and anyone interested.
Here’s the result so far in all the props pictured here on my page. Besides all these beautiful things, I make even more. And I also make items on commission. And of course, all props are customizable to your liking. For example, the color, the light color, the sound, and more.
All products on my site are available. I try to keep everything in stock as much as possible. If they are currently sold out, you can still order them. The waiting time for these items will be indicated, which is usually only a few weeks. For larger or more expensive items, the waiting time will be longer. Unless it is indicated that they are in stock.
For larger and more expensive items like the Terminator, C3PO, and Helmets, it’s possible to pay in installments. You can choose a 50/50 split, for example, or pay in multiple installments if necessary. For these more expensive items, I recommend sending an email first to make arrangements.
An invoice can then be sent via PayPal for payment arrangements. And of course, I also make props to order. Or if you’d like a specific prop that isn’t listed on my page, I can make it. Send me an email with information about what you’d like.
And all products are also available for purchase outside my site. In that case, I’ll send an invoice via PayPal.
